Jocelyn Jones founded Mindful Practice three years ago after a long career in children's services and as a senior academic at the Universities of Central England, Leicester and Nottingham . She has close links with the Centre for Action Research in Professional Practice in the School of Management at the University of Bath and works with a number of Associates in the field of organisational development and participative research, stakeholder consultations, action learning and action inquiry.
Jocelyn is committed to creating the right climate for quality dialogue with all those she meets. This respectful, inclusive approach ensures everyone's voice is heard and promotes ownership of emerging findings and shared solutions for better outcomes. She is also a qualified yoga teacher and can use, as an additional resource, energy management techniques to increase focus and support participants' action inquiries.
Sarah King is a Chartered Educational Psychologist and has worked as a Local Authority Educational Psychologist in the West Midlands for over 20 years, most recently as a Senior Specialist (Early Years). She is also an Honorary Clinical Lecturer and Fieldwork Supervisor for the Doctorate in Educational Psychology professional training course at the University of Birmingham.
As a practising applied psychologist, Sarah uses research-based practice, developing and evaluating innovative projects that engage children and young people and their parents and carers to promote resilience and well-being. She is strongly committed to trans-disciplinary working and inclusion for all children and young people and their families, ensuring parents and young people are given a voice, empowering them to make decisions about their own lives.
As a qualified yoga teacher, Sarah uses relaxation, visualisation and breathing techniques when working with children and young people in order to help manage everyday stresses and emotions and promote learning in the school environment. Sarah offers training and development in these techniques to practitioners employed in Children's Services and partner agencies under Every Child Matters.
Panna Modi has over 20 years experience in probation, social work, counselling, family therapy, mentoring and training. She is a highly skilled group worker and a nationally accredited facilitator of all types of sex offender and domestic violence programmes; she has also published in this field.
Panna has held positions as a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Leicester , a Guardian ad Litem , and an Independent Assessor, Mentor and Consultant to social workers, probation officers and guardians ad litem . She has worked in both the statutory and voluntary sectors, and has extensive experience of facilitating groups in a wide range of settings.
Panna is committed to promoting the inclusion of the least powerful members of society. She facilitates groups with people from diverse cultural backgrounds; and offers expertise in issues which affect women and children, such as family violence.
